There’s something special about French designers – a little je ne sais quoi. Take
Sophie Albou, the woman behind
Paul & Joe. The mother of two (the label is named after her two boys) and ex-Azzedine Alaia designer is phenomenally successful. She started with her own line of menswear in 1995 and debuted her women’s ready-to-wear the following year. Since then, Albou has produced cosmetics, shoes and other accessories, all while continuing to churn out lovely confections for ladies who like sexy, urban pieces – leggings, shorts, blouses and dresses – that are light on the froufrou. C’est magnifique!
In neutral colors and classic silhouettes, the flats, heels and wedges from Paul & Joe retain timeless polish. Standout pieces in this sale include the Mathilde platform sandal, enhanced with patent-leather details and a wood heel, and the Moody Ballet flat, replete with bow and buckle details at the toe.
