Diana B. 60 Second Instant Miracle Tanning Mousse

Dare I say it? Diana B.'s 60 Second Instant Miracle Tanning Mousse is headed toward cult favorite status. Hell, it may have already arrived. One reason is its absolute uniqueness. This is not your ordinary self tanning product in any way shape or form. After trying this, I cannot wait to explore more Diana B. products.

The Instant Miracle Tan produces water-activated sugar protein-based foam that gives the perfect illusion of suntanned skin. Ladies, this is the "sun-kissed brown" version of tanning, not the "orange-y, fake, oompa loompa" version. Finally!

As I said up top, this is very unique. You actually apply this product IN the shower on wet skin. The Instant Miracle Tanning Mousse is a foaming product with an aloe-vera base. After cleansing and exfoliating skin in the shower, put on the gloves that come with the product (YES, you do HAVE to use the gloves - your palms will be a bizarre color of chocolate if you don't - trust me). Pump some of the foam into your hands and while still in the shower apply to wet skin wherever you want the tan, shoulders, arms, bust and back, tummy, lower back, derriere and thighs, knees, back of legs, calves and feet (not recommended for face though). Count to sixty rubbing the product into your skin while you count. Then simply rinse with fresh water from the shower and pat your skin dry. Voila! That's all there is to it.

Now, you may want to do this several days in a row to accumulate a deeper tan as the color can be very subtle. It's a product that gets better as you play with it a bit in application. What results is a lovely naturally tanned looking skin, no orange. I'd be tempted to use this for the smell of it alone. OMG - it smells sweetly of rich, decadent chocolate with a hint of coconut and almond. And the foamy mousse feels wonderful on the skin. There is no yucky scent typical of most other self-tanners; yes, really!

REVIEW: L'Oreal Paris Sublime Bronze ProPerfect Airbrush Self-Tanning Mist

The Claims

• Gives you professional tanning results without the tanning bed
• Medium natural tan
• 360° continuous spray
• Ultra-even application
• No rub - quick dry
• Streak-free

What I like:

• Light mist does indeed dry quickly
• Fresh smelling, not that regular self-tanning product smell
• It DOES produce results, you WILL achieve color with this product
• The price is right at about $8 - $9 a can
• It's lasting a long time on me (over a week) without re-application
• If not over-sprayed, you can achieve a less-than-orange result but it's not easy

What I don't like:

• If you miss a spot with the spray, it's going to show!
• Definitely NOT tanning bed results in terms of color
• It requires a very light misting as too much will render you an unattractive orange-y shade
• Since the mist is clear and dries quickly, it's a bit difficult to tell what parts you've sprayed and what parts you haven't, so can easily wind up with uneven color tone

Overall, I'd give it a 5 out of 10 stars.

REVIEW: JERGENS NATURAL GLOW EXPRESS - Self-Tanning Drugstore Style

Touted as a self-tanning "beauty breakthrough", I was pretty excited about trying the new Jergens Natural Glow Express Body Moisturizer. Now, having used it two days in a row, I have to admit I'm pretty impressed.

What's good about it: extremely hydrating to the skin; blends like a high end body butter; noticeable but subtle tanning effect; light, fresh scent; although not intended for the face yields good results there too while not being too overpowering a moisturizer (and I have combo - normal/oily - skin type); does NOT stain clothing or linens; and best of all, extremely reasonably priced at $6.99 - $7.99 a 4 oz bottle.

What's not so good about it: although definitely a more natural looking tanning shade than most other self-tanners, still a tad bit orange-ish on Day 2 of use - other than that, no complaints, is a great moisturizer (decadent even) and nice, speedy self-tanning product.
