Christian Dior Spring 2008 Couture

Paris, January 2008
The Designer: John Galliano for Dior
The Theme: Treastice on Symbolist Painters
The Inspirations: Diana Vreeland's Vogue and Harper's Bazaar, John Singer Sargent's Madame X & Gustav Klimt's Swirls and Geometrics
The Fashion World Consensus: Surprisingly Chic

Vreeland
Sargent's Madame X
Klimt
Gustav Klimt: Adele Bloch-bauer

The Vreeland and Klimt persuasions are obvious but I'm not sure I see the Madame X in the photos we've been privy to thus far. Waiting for more on the show and hoping for a sneak peek at backstage beauty for this look as well. Coincidentally, this little piece follows right in line with my carnivale theme going on this week, don't ya think?
