Being in the field of mental health, when I hear "obssesive compulsive" my ear automatically turns to hear more. Have you heard of the beauty brand Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics? Chances are you haven't, yet it's getting lots of attention in editorials, from the professional makeup artist community and within the world of arts & entertainment in general. Turns out there's good reason. I have to thank Amy, The Beauty Chick, my gorgeous beauty loving sweetie, who turned me on to OCC through our Twitter tweets - merci, lovey!

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (OCC) started out in November, 2004 with just two lip balms, cult-favorites Tarred & Feathered. Ultra-sheer black and white tones respectively, they were designed to either darken and define or lighten and prime the lips, created in response to a über-natural trend in beauty, when even the most neutral of lipsticks was considered too much color.

The premise was simple: develop a complete line of professional quality cosmetics inspired by professional makeup solutions, not only for artists but for makeup enthusiasts everywhere. To set the brand apart in an already over-crowded marketplace meant committing to innovation in both colour and texture, as well as concept and selection. What this means to the consumer: A refreshing, gimmickless approach. No false claims, no empty promises, just great makeup.

New color options for Fall are out now. Six new shades of Lip Tar (see image at top). Four new shades of Loose Colour Concentrate. All new shades in anticipation of Fall 2009.

LIP TAR $12.50
An ultra-emollient lipstick in a tube. Goes on slick and moist. Dries to a demi-matte finish. Incredibly opaque and long-lasting. OCC Lip Tar combines the longevity of a lipstick, with the ease of application of a gloss. Lip Tar contains an unprecedented amount of pigment, so a little goes a very, very long way. An intense yet featherweight layer of color that stands up to the scrutiny of hi-def video and digital photography, without ever looking (or feeling!) heavy. Meant to be mixed, OCC Lip Tars come in a concise range of colors (and black and white) for a limitless selection of shades made by you.

Like all of OCC products, Lip Tar is 100% vegan and cruelty-free, and is also free of parabens and other harsh preservatives. A simple, elegant formula that contains Hemp Oil, Peppermint Oil and Vitamin E, this product feels as good on the lips as it looks!

NEW LIP TAR SHADES FOR FALL 2009
• ANIME: Beyond neon pink. Pageant pales by comparison.
• HUSH: Antique, bridal pink. A match for OCC Skin Airbrush Blush in Hush.
• CONQUEST: Pale, polished ivory. Great for mixing or Mod Makeup.
• PETTY BEIGE: Opaque and true, deep toned ecru.
• FONDUE: Intensely dark chocolate - think 91% cacao dark!
• BOTANICAL: It's not easy wearing green, but it's great to tone down red.

OCC has lots more to offer. I encourage you to check out Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics online and take a look at their skin preps, loose pigments, balms, mixing mediums and more.
