Your Pomegranate Questions Answered!

Is pomegranate effective for cellulite reduction?

Pomegranate may indeed help with reducing cellulite. It can help with reducing inflammation, which is one of the mechanisms that the body uses to make cellulite. And because pomegranate extracts can help to reduce weight, this is also helpful since excessive weight can increase cellulite production. For best results, cellulite can be reduced most effectively by taking oral pomegranate supplements and at the same time, massaging the affected areas using emollients containing pomegranate seed extracts.

Are phytoestrogens good or bad? Why?

Phytoestrogens may be helpful in reducing menopausal symptoms, improving bone health, and lowering cardiovascular risk in both men and women. However, studies have found that some phytoestrogens, such as soy, may lead to increased risk of cancer. The pomegranate offers the safest and broadest range of phytoestrogens for general use.

I heard that pomegranate contains conjugated fatty acids. What is conjugated fatty acid? Are these fatty acids good for you?

Conjugated fatty acids are specialized forms of unsaturated fatty acids, which are known to be good for you! In addition to the regular benefits of unsaturated fatty acids, conjugated fatty acids may help to strengthen the immune system and have a powerful effect in reducing inflammation, including that which leads to asthma.

What is the difference between pomegranate seed oil and flaxseed oil?

Pomegranate seed oil contains unique conjugated fatty acids, which are mildly estrogenic. Although flax seeds do contain phytoestrogens in the form of lignans, these compounds do not occur in pure flax seed oil. The conjugated fatty acids found in pomegranate seed oil are a better source of mild phytoestrogens and also provide support to the immune system. The two oils can also be safely used in combination.
