Alexander McQueen Unleashes Some Feminine

Model - Kim Noorda, Photo - Mario Madeira

In the new men’s wear collection he showed in Milan, in order to play up the significance of the cruise season, Alexander McQueen included 14 women’s looks. McQueen showed his women's pre-spring collection on the runway alongside his Spring menswear "because they both go into the shop together," but also to mark the season's commercial importance - crusing. "Über-partying, über-glamour" was McQueen's theme.

The shapes are sexy and form-fitting, with distinctive color-blocking, often in muted shades, with hints of neon brights against black. The designer also developed a new, labor-intensive smoke motif that began as a smoky pattern on silk jacquard trenchcoats, then continued as tromp l’oeil embroidery on shirts and pants and finally turned into a print on a T-shirt.
