The Best of Beach Scents - Summer 2008

Style is offering their take on the best beach scents out there. Here's what they're liking this summer:

  • Avon Tahitian Holiday - True to its name, this beachy eau de parfum blend, derived from Tahitian tiare flower and coconut oils, has a distinctly tropical edge. Price: $9.99 for 50 ml Available at Avon
  • Bobbi Brown Beach - This mix of sand jasmine, sea spray, and mandarin smells a bit like suntan lotion (in a very good way) and makes this best-selling eau de toilette a warm-weather staple. Price: $55 for 50 ml Available at Bobbi Brown
  • CB I Hate Perfume At the Beach 1966 - If this fragrance conjures memories of Coppertone circa the 1960's, you're not mistaken. The vintage sunscreen is the prime note that—along with hints of wet sand, seashell, driftwood, and something called "boardwalk"—gives this water perfume from maverick nose Christopher Brosius a retro summery smell. Price: $65 for 100 ml Available at CB I Hate Perfume
  • Comptoir Sud Pacifique Aqua Motu - This shore-inspired blend of marine notes mixed with lily of the valley, warm sand, and kelp has been the company's best-selling eau de toilette in Europe since its release in 1995. Though hard to find stateside, trust us, it's worth the search. Price: $85 for 100 ml Available at BeautyCafe
  • Carol's Daughter Ocean - The combo of watermelon, cucumber, lavender, and hyacinth in this concentrated and long-wearing eau de toilette evokes the light scent of seaside flowers. Price: $27 for 60 ml Available at Carol's Daughter

I'm adding another fragrance to the "best of beach scents" list. For me, no trip to the beach is complete without it, and I'll be bringing it along to the sugar white sands of Destin when I finally take a vacation late this summer.

V'Tae's Two-Piece Eau de Parfum
Looking for a scent to take you back? Back to the memories of the sun filled, fun filled days by the beach. Then Two-Piece is the scent for you! This tropical and tantalizing blend of vanilla, tangerine and just a hint of coconut (um, actually there's more than a hint of this sweet smelling note, but V'Tae says a hint), Two-Piece will take you there again and again! This perfume is a steal at only $25 for a full 2 oz bottle. I've purchased this fragrance three or four times since its introduction a couple of summers back and I use every drop in the bottle each time - scrumptious! Available at V'Tae.

  1. Awesome round up! I would add Hollister's Malaia and B&BW's Hawaii Coconut to this list.
